JAMB Updates: Important Notice To Direct Entry Candidates Ahead Of 2017 UTME Exams

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) ahead of the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination have announced that all direct entry candidates will be required to sit for a school-based aptitude test and not UTME. This was stated by the head of Information, JAMB, Fabian Benjamin, on Monday, April 3rd 2017.
He said;“Direct Entry candidates will attempt an aptitude test which is school-based. They are not sitting for the UTME. The test is from the universities.

”The new book we introduced will be used by Direct Entry candidates for the aptitude tests that will be conducted by the universities. Students with matriculation numbers of universities are not eligible to sit for the UTME. If they are not satisfied with their chosen disciplines, they can ask for transfer.’’
It was earlier reported here when JAMB stated it was not going to extend the registration period, saying that before deadline every candidate will register.
The spokesman observed that some applicants were seeking extension of the UTME registration deadline due to irregularities in the ongoing registration process.
According to him, it is wrong for any person to also think that there is inadequacy in the number of centres stipulated to register candidates for the UTME.
