JAMB Reduces Exam Questions And Time, Questions To Be Uploaded 5 Mins To The Exam

The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, on Wednesday said the board may reduce the timeline for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) from three hours to two hours.

Similarly, Use of English that used to have 100 questions will be reduced to 60 questions while the other subjects will be reduced to 40 questions each.

He further stated that question papers will be uploaded five minutes to the examinations in order to check malpractice and questions leakage.

JAMB Updates: 2017 UTME CBT Examination Time Reduced To 2hours

This is to inform all prospective candidates sitting for the 2017 UTME exams that the Computer Based Test (CBT) examination time may be reduced to two hours instead of three hours, this was stated by the JAMB Registrar Prof. Is-haq Oloyede on Wednesday.
Oloyede further stated that question papers will be uploaded five minutes to the examinations in order to check malpractice and questions leakage.
He made this known during the Strategic Planning retreat on Supervision and Evaluation of 2017 UTME examinations.

JAMB Introduce The Use Of 8–Keys Device For 2017 UTME Exams

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Wednesday have announced to eliminate the use of Mouse in the Computer Based Test (CBT) for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) due to low computer literacy level of candidates.
JAMB Registrar, Professor Is-haq Olanrewaju Oloyede, disclosed this in Kaduna on Wednesday, saying the board will now introduce the use of an 8-keys device to UTME Candidates.
Professor Oloyede said the 8-keys device would eliminate the challenge of computer illiteracy and phobia for mouse by some candidates.
He said; “From the general feedback on the adoption of the Computer Based Test mode, we have noted the challenge of computer low level literacy of some candidates, especially with the phobia for the mouse.
“In order to ensure equity and level playground for all candidates taking Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, the Board has designed a system that will allow candidates use only 8-keys without the use of mouse.

Author Of The Last Days at Forcados High School To Sue JAMB For Conspiracy

The author of Last Days at Forcados High School, Dr. Ayobami Hanif Mohammed, is planning to sue JAMB and the Cassava Republic Press for conspiring to violate his copyrights.
The book, written by Mohammed in 2006 as a student of University of Lagos (UNILAG) was in 2014 accepted by JAMB as the official handbook for candidates in the Use of English on the recommendation of Fafunwa Educational Foundation.
The Publisher, Ms Bibi Bakare-Yusuf, was said to have signed an agreement with JAMB on behalf of the author for the book to be used between 2014 and 2017. Terms and conditions for the contract was agreed upon and signed by the parties concerned.
However, trouble started when the publisher after signing agreement with JAMB in 2014, turned round to request from Mohammed a lower royalty which the author refused on the premise that the fresh proposal was a violation of the initial contract.

MAPOLY Has Been Upgraded To University of Science & Technology (MAUST)

The Governor of Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun on Monday signed A bill seeking to change the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, to Moshood Abiola University of Science and Technology, Abeokuta (MAUST).
He also signed into law the bill for the re-establishment of the Ogun State Polytechnic to be sited in Ipokia-Yewa-Awori areas of the state.

Jamb Releases Date For Sales Of 2017 Utme Forms & Registration

This is to inform all members of the public that the Joint Administration Matriculation Board (JAMB)  is officially set to commence the  sales of forms and registration for the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Monday 20th March, 2017.
For Direct Entry (DE) Applicants, the sale of 2017 UTME Forms will begin from Sunday 23rd April, 2017.
The board in a series of tweets on its official twitter handle (JAMBHQ) said that the sales of forms will end Wednesday 19th April 2017 while Registration will close on Saturday, 22nd April 2017.

The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano online application forms for admission into its 5th Regular Course of degree programme is now available.

HOW TO APPLY
Interested Applicants are advised to go to the Nigeria Police Academy’s Website: www.polac.edu.ng in order to obtain or generate Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) Code. The RRR code obtained can be used to make payment of N3,000.00 through any commercial Bank Branch in Nigeria.
Applicants must, in addition, apply through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board as well as sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Candidates need not select the Police Academy as a university of choice in the JAMB form. Admission Requirements

Bachelor of Arts (B.A. Hons) Part-Time Degree in French
Candidates wishing to register for the six (6) year programme must have at least five (5) credits, three of which must be in French, English Language, Literature in English and any other two credits at SSCE level or its equivalent which shall not be more than two sittings. They must also have a satisfactory UTME score or as shall be decided by the University.
i) Candidates who apply for the five year programme must possess at least six points at IJMB or GCE two (Advanced level) passes or with a minimum of nine points at NCE, plus three ‘O’ level subjects at credit level. One of the ‘A’ level subjects must be in French.
ii) Candidates who possess a Diploma Certificate in French with minimum of Upper Credit recognized by the University are also eligible. In addition, they are to have three credits passes at the SSCE, NECO or their equivalents.
iii) Candidates with equivalent qualification from Francophone Institutions recognized by the University who possess ‘O’ Level credits in English and Literature in English are also legible.
Bachelor of Arts (B.A. Hons) Part-Time Degree in Linguistics
i) A candidate wishing to register for B.A. (Linguistics) programme should possess at least five credits, two of which must be in English Language, Literature in English or Nigerian Languages and any other three credits at the SSCE level or the equivalent.
ii) Candidates who possess at least two ‘A’ Level passes, one of which must be in English/French Language or Nigerian Language.
iii) Two credit passes at NCE in English/French/African Languages
iv) Candidates with equivalent qualifications from Francophone Institutions who possess at least an ‘O’ Level credit in English Language and Literature in English or in French.
v) Candidates with Diploma Certificate (at least Upper Credit) in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution shall be admitted into this degree programme.

OSPOLY Announces Daily Part Time Resumption Date (New Students) – 2016/2017

UNIOSUN To Expel Over 4,000 Students For Non-payment Of Fees

The management of Osun State University, Osogbo has resolved to expel over 4,000 students of the institution who refused to pay their tuition fees within the stipulated period which would expire on 28 of February.
In a press statement issued from the Corporate Affairs Unit of the university and signed by the Acting Registrar, Mr Gafar Shitu, the management of UNIOSUN said any student that failed to pay the tuition fees before the expiration of February 28, 2017 deadline would no longer be considered to be a student of the university.
The Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Labode Popoola earlier told noted that students owed the university a backlog of school fees to the tune of N2billion (Two Billion Naira).

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta  (FUNAAB) has released the registration procedures for admission screening into the institution. All new students are expected to follow these procedures for their registration;

Acceptance Fee Payment Procedure

UNILAG Notice To Students In Respect With The Planned Protest

Reports has it that the University of Lagos, has planned to protest on Monday, March 6, 2017.
Information reaching the Students Affairs has it that; the protest is to be led by SAVE UNILAG COALITION & REINSTATE UNILAG 11 NOW, which could degenerate to violence.
Students of the in institution are therefore advised to avoid participating in the protest or moving around protest scenes for safety and security reasons.

EKSU Postpones First Semester Examination & New Date Revealed – 2016/2017

The Management of Ekiti State University (EKSU) has graciously assented to the plea of the Students of the University to postpone the first semester examinations for 2016/2017 academic session.
The examinations was expected to start today Monday, February 27, 2017 but due to the appeal from the students, the exams will now begin on Monday, March 6, 2017.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Samuel Oye Bandele who announced the decision was of the opinion that students would use the period to complete their registration and prepare well for the examinations.

PROGRAMME DURATION
Option A: The Professional Master’sprogramme takes twelve (12) calendar months of intensive, flexible and modular study plus project report.
Option B: The M.Sc. programme takes 6 quarters of full-time intensive study or 8 quarters of modular intensive study plus a defended and passed dissertation.
Post Graduate Diploma Programme (PGD): The duration of the PGD programme shall be 12 months of full time, modular, intensive study.
